I had to remove my pearl gouramis as they would not let him be and he ended up with shredded fins. I have always kept bettas in community tanks and they are always more sinned against in the aggression stakes. He certainly thrives in a tank of that size and I would like to be able to afford a bigger tank. He gets himself into tight spaces hunting for the last live daphnia. He is in a 10g heavily planted tank and he uses wherever he can go (unless the catfish is there, he gives way to HER). You can consider that aggression but it never goes beyond that to chasing or nipping. The most he does is flair his operculae (gill covers) at the dwarf rasboras if they are in his way. It should also have a heater and a filter (more on this later).īettas like having plenty of spaces to hide and rest so you might want to include live plants such as Java Moss and Java Fern as well as rocks and caves.
#BETTA FISH BOWL IDEAS FULL#
Just like any other aquarium, you will need to set up your fish tank and complete a full cycle to establish the right bacteria to break down ammonia and nitrites. Plenty of space to add heater or additional filtration. All wires can be hidden behind the center of the tank.Large 15 gallon capacity offers your Bettas lots of space to swim and play.Really great design with a convex front wall.Very affordable if you already have additional equipment (heater, filter etc).
